Cable details The loop cable must be installed around the perimeter of the room. For best results it should be running at floor or skirting board level. Usually the cable will go up and over a doorway or opening.
It is very important that the loop avoids any area where instruments are likely to be used. In most churches, this involves keeping the cable clear of the chancel area.
Loops can be run under carpet, totally out of sight. To do this, a flat copper tape is used. It is only 1mm thick, so there is no lump in the floor. To prevent wear, the tape is reinforced with a plastic cover when crossing aisles or other "high traffic" areas.
